Book Page Craft DIY for Bookworm or Library Birthday Party

Baby girl is turning two this December, so I’ve been in birthday planning mode for at least the last six months.

I’ve decided on a library themed party and already made super cute library card invitations.

I’ve also been slowly but surely working on the decorations.

One of my favorites is this fun old book page craft.

This book page decoration is super simple to make, and I think it is a cute addition.

Plus, repurposing an old book page is an inexpensive decoration idea!

Book Page Craft Letter Tutorial

Book Page Letter Supplies:

  • Wooden letters (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
  • Glue or Mod Podge (I swear you can use Mod Podge for almost anything!)
  • Old book page (I had duplicates of a Little Men and Little Women book that I didn’t mind tearing pages out of.)  The book page needs to be bigger than the size of the wooden letter, though.
  • Decorations (In my case this was the little bow and the cardboard glasses.)
  • Pencil and Scissors

Craft Instructions:

I found it easiest to first trace the outline of the letter onto the book page with a pencil.  I traced on the side that I was not planning to have facing out.  Then, I carefully cut out the letter.

Next, I glued the book page to the wooden letter with Mod Podge and smoothed out the wrinkles.

After letting it dry for several hours, I glued on the little bow and cardboard glasses. I had painted the glasses pink in a previous project, and I thought that would match the color scheme of my daughter’s party well.

And that’s pretty much it for this easy book page craft.  Super simple to make and super cute, right?  The project took me less than five minutes, and it’ll be a fun party decoration that we can reuse later on as well.
