It’s that time of year when Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a is coming up soon.   Dress up like a cow, get free food.  Pretty easy! And we love Chick-fil-a!  My dad eats Chick-fil-a at least once a day every day of the week…except Sunday, of course. He’s even an A-lister.  And we threw him a Chick-fil-a themed 60th birthday party even!  Our family goes to Chick-fil-a a lot when we go out to eat with him, and we’ve learned to take advantage of all the freebies they offer.

There are the calendar cards which give freebies every month, and even the Chick-fil-a app that gives freebies after a certain amount of visits. Occasionally, our local Chick-fil-a even does free Wednesday morning breakfasts. One of the more fun times for our family is Cow Appreciation Day, which this year is July 11, 2017. Last year, when we took baby girl, she needed a cow onesie, so I had to make one! It was really easy to do and inexpensive also!

How to make a cow onesie

I started with a white sleeveless onesie, because, well, it is HOT down here in July. Using some cow patterned fabric, I cut out cow-shaped spots. I then used safety pins to affix the spots to the onesie. Simple as that! And also removable for later to reuse the onesie.  I added a black headband when we went to Chick-fil-a, and Kathryn looked super cute in her cow onesie!

If you have a little time and a local Chick-fil-a, I totally recommend checking out Cow Appreciation Day.  It was free food and a fun picture opportunity.  Of course, just like she was afraid of Santa, Kathryn was afraid of the person dressed like a cow, but I have high hopes for this year that we’ll get that family photo with the cow in it too!
